Fundraising Policy
The Hampton Food Basket is grateful for the generosity of individuals, community groups, and businesses who wish to raise funds in support of our mission. To protect donors, volunteers, and the organization, the following standards apply to all fundraising conducted by or on behalf of the Hampton Food Basket.
Authorization to Fundraise
Individuals or groups must contact the Hampton Food Basket and receive authorization before commencing any fundraiser in our name.

Early contact allows us to:

confirm alignment with our mission and current needs,

provide guidance on donation handling,

determine whether organizational participation is appropriate, and

share approved branding and messaging.

Disclosure Requirements
Anyone raising funds must clearly state:

Hampton Food Basket is the intended beneficiary.

The purpose for which funds are being requested.

The organization’s policy regarding official income tax receipts, including any minimum amount for which a receipt may be issued.

Upon request, whether the person seeking donations is a volunteer, employee, or contracted third party acting on behalf of the Hampton Food Basket.
Fundraising Materials -
All fundraising materials distributed by or on behalf of the Hampton Food Basket must include our contact information.

The Hampton Food Basket does not pay fundraisers.
Behaviour and Expectations -
Anyone seeking or receiving funds on our behalf, whether a volunteer, employee, or contracted third party, must:

Act with fairness, integrity, and in accordance with all applicable laws.

Stop contacting a prospective donor who indicates they do not wish to be contacted.

Immediately disclose to the organization any actual or apparent conflict of interest or loyalty.

Not accept donations for purposes inconsistent with the Hampton Food Basket’s mission.

Be able to verify their affiliation with the organization.

Secure and safeguard confidential donor information, including credit card details.
Funds raised support the association’s operations, programs, and services.
